 On March 23, 2010, the Long Beach City Council approved the recommendation and adopted Ordinance No. ORD-10-0007.  The Recommendation being, to declare the ordinance amending the Long Beach Municipal Code by adding Chapter 5.87 to implement the State Compassionate Use Act and State Medical Marijuana Program Act.   The Ordinance was signed on April 1, 2010 and went into effect May 2, 2010

.On November 16, 2010, the Long Beach City Council approved the recommendation for
an additional 1,000 ft buffer from parks.
